Foreword On the 90th Anniversary of the arrival of the Jesuits in Hong
Kong, Nicholas Tsui has kindly and wonderfully produced
“Pictorial Memories of the Jesuits in Hong Kong 1926 to
2016” with comments on our history.

It is so easy to forget our past – “out of sight, out of mind“.
But our roots are found in our history as we recall those
good Jesuits who have gone before us and the work they
accomplished.
Our history explains our present times and photos tell a tale
even better than words. We like to see the visual in pictures.
We all keep our family photos because they remind us of
the people we knew, met or heard about. They bring back
precious memories.
Our “Congratulations“ and gratitude to Nicholas for his
patient and accurate work in producing this book to celebrate
our 90th Anniversary. We are indebted to him. I am sure
many will enjoy recalling memories in this meaningful and
picturesque way.
