Editor’s Notes This production project
Over two hundred Jesuits have served in Hong Kong since 1926. Their
wide and varied contribution to education, social welfare and pastoral
work is worthy of our respect and remembrance. This production
Nicholas P. C. Tsui project, commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Jesuits in Hong
Kong, is comprised of a book and a video.

This book
This book presents a concise history of the endeavours of the Jesuits in
Hong Kong pictorially in the form of a picture album with captions and
provides information textually.

Collective efforts have been made by members and friends of the
Society of Jesus to provide precious old photographs as well as to
identify people in the photographs for captioning purposes.
The list of Jesuits in Hong Kong 1926 to 2016 (Appendix II) is compiled
by assembling information published in various Jesuit Provincial
Catalogues and other sources.
The video
Bearing the same title as this book, the video is based on another video
produced in 2014 title “Services and Accomplishments of Irish Jesuits
Who Came to Hong Kong” and enriched with additional coverage on
non-Irish Jesuits.
